Beginning in April 2026, Kyoto Aquarium, operated by Orix Aquarium Corporation,
will introduce newly designed uniforms for its in-house staff, including animal husbandry team members.
The new uniforms were planned and produced by Morito Apparel Co., Ltd.
● The lineup includes jackets, T-shirts, hats, pants, and pouches.
● The outer fabric used for the jackets, T-shirts, hats, and pants is made with recycled polyester,
an environmentally conscious material.
● The pouch features “Ocean Current®,” a recycled nylon fabric that incorporates discarded fishing nets,
which are a major contributor to marine pollution, as 25% of its raw material.
The uniform renewal was made possible through a shared vision between Kyoto Aquarium’s “AQTION!”
initiative and the Morito Group’s “Rideeco®” initiative.
“AQTION!” encourages people to think about and take action for living creatures and the global environment.
“Rideeco®” connects individuals and companies across industries who seek to contribute to environmental causes,
with the aim of passing on a beautiful planet and its resources to future generations.
By applying its manufacturing expertise, Morito Apparel helped bring Kyoto Aquarium’s strong environmental
awareness to life in a practical and visible way.
The Morito Group will continue to support the realization
of a sustainable society through environmentally conscious manufacturing.
